Who is your Leader?
In today’s passage we see a contrast between two kings, two meals, to responses to ‘the crowd’. On the one hand, the king who fears the crowds is the king who looks after the insiders, who deals in fear and death and opulence. On the other hand, the king who has compassion on the crowds is the king who looks for the outsiders, feeds the common people, and deals in abundant life. Which king speaks to our times, to us?
