Doctrine and Deeds Go Together
What we believe (our doctrine) is seen in our behaviour (our deeds) and it shows to the world who we serve (display), in the best light. That is the very simple truth of Titus 2:1-14. Our doctrine leads to our deeds, which are a positive public display of our God. The problems emerge from when we reverse this order to start asking questions, questions like, ‘If someone observed my deeds, what would they conclude about the doctrine I believe and the God I display?’ Now, that is a little more pointed, isn’t it!
