God is in Control
For all the failings of Jacob’s family, God will use this family to bless not only His own people but many people through them. Chapter 37 kicks off the next section of God’s redemptive plan and fulfilment of his covenantal promises of land, offspring and blessings He made back in chapter 12 + 15. In chapter 37 we see the interplay between human selfishness and sin and that of God’s complete sovereignty.
