Christ and Crown

The whole thrust of Romans 12:1-2 is that, because of God’s mercy (the good news of Jesus Christ’s life, death and resurrection, for our sins), we are to be completely transformed as God’s people, in every area of life—we are his people, and so we give him what he deserves (our whole existence). This will affect how we view every facet of life—and in this series we will look at three: politics (Christ and crown), money (Christ and cash) and ethics (Christ and conscience). Today—politics!

From Series: "Christ and ..."

One of my favourite verses from the Bible is Romans 12:1-2: Therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, I urge you to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God; this is your spiritual worship. 2 Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God. This is the memory verse for this series (which will be scattered throughout the term: ‘Christ and…’). The whole thrust of these two verses is that, because of God’s mercy (the good news of Jesus Christ’s life, death and resurrection, for our sins), we are to be completely transformed as God’s people, in every area of life—we are his people, and so we give him what he deserves (our whole existence). This will affect how we view every facet of life—and in this series we will look at three: politics (Christ and crown), money (Christ and cash) and ethics (Christ and conscience).
