Gospelling

Over the next four weeks, we are going to look at these words (‘gathering’, ‘growing’, ‘going’) and we will add a fourth at the start (‘gospelling’). We will do this by looking at the same passage each week: Matthew 28:16-20. Jesus’ last words in Matthew’s good news biography make clear that God’s people (‘disciples’) have a very clear command: ‘make disciples’. And we do this by ‘going’, ‘baptising’ and ‘teaching’. In essence, this is what our ‘mission statement’ is… We are doing this so that, at the start of the year, and across every formal ministry in God’s mob here, we will be thinking about what we are doing through these four words.

Scripture References: Matthew 28:16-20, Psalms 7:1-17, 1 Corinthians 15:1-7

Who are we as God’s people, under this label of ‘Narrabri Anglican Church’? Every week, we read a slogan (a ‘mission statement’) on our newsletter. It is on our letterhead. It is part of our logo. And over the next four weeks, we are going to look at these words (‘gathering’, ‘growing’, ‘going’) and we will add a fourth at the start (‘gospelling’).
